My name is Dana Thomas. I would classify myself as the Resident Geek. I can sense you tensing up already. Relax. I am not like those Geeks. I would say taht I am a unique "Geek" in the sense that I also speak English. Ever notice that Geeks speak their own language? I thought so. That is why you tensed up the way you did. I totally understand. I have seen this process over and over again. One thing I am good at is translating between the techies and the non-techies.
I am guessing most people that have found our website fall into one of two groups.
Group #1
You have already been through the traditionally painful and often complicated process of having a website designed and launched. After all that, you are left with a website that grants you little to know end results. Meaning it is like a beautiful, or perhaps a mediocre, billboard in the desert. Many in this group have thrown their hands up and just figure all website companies are the same. We are VERY different than anything I have seen out there before.
Group #2
You are ready to embarq on the journey of marketing through a website but you have not started that journey yet. Scared? That is probably because you have talked to some of the people in Group #1. Well, it is time to set aside your anxiety and talk to us.
A little more about me:
Education:
- Graduated from Gloucester High School in 1994
- Liberal Arts Bachelors degree from Southern Virginia University; Major in Business Leadership & Management, Minor in Mulitmedia Design, 2002
Great Life Events:
- I served as a missionary for my church for two years in Anaheim, California in the spanish speaking program. It was amazing to see people embrace the teachings of Christ and how that would positively change their lives. This is where I absolutely fell in love with giving and helping others.
- Meeting and marrying my best friend Hannah Thomas. We got married in 1999 and she still likes being around me. :D She truly is my best friend and life would not be the same without her.
- The birth of my four children: Dallin, Afton, Henry, and Brynlee. Each birth was a moment that the heavens touched the earth. Only second to my relationship with my wife, I love my children and work hard to be a better Father to them every day.
- Personal Education. This is only note worthy because of all the small ephiphanies that have changed my life in such a cummulatively large way along the path of seeking truth in everything around me. Books, people, nature, and all other life experiences.
Other Interesting Facts:
- I have a wide range of interests. I love to fish, go to the beach, camp, boat, hike, run, play just about any sport, and just about any other wholesome outdoor activity that involves interacting with people. I also love all those things that you would expect a "Geek" to love: Technology, the internet, anything ninja, Star Wars, Star Trek, SciFi in general, Lord of the Rings...you get the picture.
- My wife and I started a blog called Whole Life Adventure. It is still pretty green but we wanted a blog that would touch all the major adventure that would fill a "Whole Life". My wife and I are very pationate about birth, health, education, and all the other huge adventures that life is all about.
