What is Hubspot?: The Best ‘Non-Techie’ Definition You'll Read

What is Hubspot?
Good dang question. I had the same one about two years ago when I discovered the company for the first time. I’ve heard quite a few different definitions out there- from Hubspot themselves, other inbound marketing aficionados, as well as ‘competitors’ of the upstart firm from Boston.
To make what could be a very long story short, here’s my ‘definition’.
Hubspot is an internet marketing tool that allows business owners, instead of depending on a webmaster, to manage and design their own website. It also consists of intensive traffic and lead analysis tools, automated email campaigns, landing page creation, and social media (facebook, twitter, etc) integration.
Let’s put it like this—
- If you’re sick and tired of using a webmaster, feel like your hands are tied, and are ready to finally take control of your company website and marketing, then HS is your answer.
- If you want to track all the ins and outs of how, what, when, where, and why people come to your website, and what they do when they get there (including all about them once they’re a lead), then HS is for you.
- If you would like to automatically follow up with leads that are in your system, without you really doing anything at all, then HS is for you.
- If you would like to set up an easy to maintain blog so as to increase web traffic, educate consumers, and get way more organic (free) search engine traffic, then HS is for you.
- If you would like to know all about the web marketing of your competitors, then HS will help with that too.
Frankly, there is a lot more the company can do but that’s a good start. As always, if you’re interested in learning more about HS, make sure you download our free eBook on how Hubspot and Inbound Marketing saved our business.
